Level III Child Development Supervisor
HI! My name is Meenakshi and I am happy to be a part of Rockabye Daycare as a Program supervisor. I have a degree in Education, majoring in English and Child Psychology, and have significant understanding of child development and pedagogy. I was born and raised in India where I worked as English language and Elementary teacher. In 2004, I got an opportunity to work in an international school in United Arab Emirates as ESL teacher and Co-Curricular Activity Coordinator.
I moved to Canada in 2007 and since then have been working in the child care sector with different age groups as Early Childhood Educator, Child Development Supervisor and Counsellor. My passion to work with children, motivated me to pursue various professional development courses and trainings in children’s mental health, early brain development, child abuse and protocol, cross cultural parenting, bullying, need assessment and counselling. I encourage student learning by incorporating creative learning centers, hands on activities, and fun manipulatives, as these methods stimulate children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. My utmost priority at work place is to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for children which allows them to play, grow, aspire, and dream. I believe that every child is capable of constructing their own learning and should be given freedom to explore their ideas of interest. Hence, my curriculum is designed on Reggio Emilia Approach, where the child’s interest is the main point of consideration. I have always been actively involved with community development and have up to date information of various community resources that can be beneficial for both parents and children. Furthermore, my knowledge about child development and experience in counselling and need assessment enables me to provide helpful strategies to both parents and children. With my team of qualified teachers, I look forward to working with your children in providing the best care and help them in becoming a positive, confident, and responsible individual.
