Encouraging Proper Nutrition at Rockabye Daycare
‘’Eat Right, Be Bright’’
Rockabye’s Daycare provides food and snacks for our little students throughout the day. Healthy habits and good manners are developed at an early age, so there is nothing better than have healthy meals. We provide nutrient dense plant-based meals daily for children between the ages of 1 to 5 1/2 years.
Plant-Based / Whole foods offers all the nutrients we all need. Protein, calcium, iron..etc
Grains ( foods that are made from wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal, barley, or another cereal grain are grain products. Examples include whole wheat, brown rice, and oatmeal)
Vegetables (vary your vegetables. Choose a variety of colourful vegetables, including dark green, red, and orange vegetables, legumes (peas and beans), and starchy vegetables)
Fruit (Any fruit or 100 percent fruit juice counts as part of the fruit group. Fruits may be fresh, canned, frozen, or dried, and may be whole, cut up, or pureed)
Alternative Plant-Based milks ( Oat, Soy) yogurts, cheese.
